For the eleventh time, RAI Association has organised the election of the Bicycle Innovation Award. This year, 27 bicycle innovations of a very diverse nature were presented to the professional jury for assessment.
An eye for product innovation
The jury is pleased to note that the bicycle sector, with its interest in participation, clearly indicates that it has a great deal of interest in the need for product innovation. The jury previously nominated six entries. The final three winners have been selected, after a pitch to the professional jury on 24 March, and Sparta / AXA Bike Security / Conneqtech is one of the Award winners.
Sparta M8i with AXA connect module the big winner
By using a permanent internet connection with a track & trace system developed by AXA on an e-bike, the owner is always connected to his bicycle. This allows the new system to send a notification if the bicycle is moved unexpectedly or falls over. A stolen or moved bicycle can also be traced again in this way. In addition to this detection function, the owner also receives a notification automatically with the advice to recharge the battery when it is almost empty or to schedule a maintenance appointment in good time.
Connectivity the strong point
The jury commends the connectivity and sees many future applications for this innovation. Because of this contemporary development, Sparta and AXA Stenman have managed to connect owners online with their bicycles.
